I-BUS app does not start automatically after waking from standby
The app doesn't launch after waking up from idle mode—why is that happening?
On MTC-based PX3/PX30/ PX5/PX6 radios with an MCU newer than version 3.44 and older than 3.67 as well as non-recommended radios I-BUS app (or other apps that use the hardware on the USB port - e.g. DAB+) may not start automatically.
However if the radio restarts properly (i.e. with the boot logo and a duration of 15–30 seconds) the app launches.
Only if this specific behavior occurs the following solutions may help:
- Using a different USB port - and/or
- Set a different launcher as the default and add the I-BUS app to "Autostart" - e.g. iDrive launcher - preferred solution - - or
- Downgrade MCU to version 3.44, or
- Upgrade MCU to at least version 3.67
Automatischer app start for "non-recommended head units"
So far the only solution that works is to use a different launcher (a different "home screen") that includes an "auto-start" feature.
We recommend to use iDrive launcher. You'll find the download link on the page linked above.
- Download iDrive Launcher using the link above
- Install iDrive Launcher
- Tap the "Home" icon ("house") and in the prompt dialog set iDrive launcher as your home screen ("always")
- Optionally go to Android Settings ==> Apps ==> Default Apps ==> Launcher/Start App/Home Screen ==> Select iDrive launcher [here you can also set a different launcher as the default at any time]
- In the iDrive launcher settings add the I-BUS app as "auto start"
Xtrons IX series head units
If you are using the current version 2.2.1.4 in combination with an Xtrons IX series device please send us an email with details about the "I-BUS app auto-start" issue.
We will then send you a beta version of the I-BUS app, which includes an "Xtrons IX Support" option in the "Advanced Settings" that must be enabled.

Note: Due to the deep integration into the system this option may cause the radio to crash more frequently. We therefore recommend using a different launcher as the default and adding the I-BUS app to "auto start" here e.g. iDrive launcher.
